Pavlů, Tomáš ; Vašalovská, Petra (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
The thesis is aimed on establishing of well arranged catalogue of selected water treatment plants in the Czech Republic, with special regard to basic information about particular plants. The first part is focused on general information about Czech water treatment plants, followed by water treatment categorization using several criteria, and the most commonly used water treatment technologies in the Czech Republic. The fourth part of the thesis is concentrated on data acquisition and its evaluation. Last but one part is represented by description of the individually visited water treatment plant. Finally, the thesis is completed with a catalogue of basic information about selected water treatment plants.
Plan for drought and water scarcity
Bakota, Filip ; Coufal,, Marek (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of the diploma thesis is to describe and prepare the pilot plan for drought and water scarcity for the selected locality, according to the prepared amendment of water law. Recent years have shown that drought will play a significant role in water supply in the future. Therefore, the need for tools to provide procedures and guidelines for individual administrations is more than important. The first part of the diploma thesis deals with issues of drought and water scarcity, climate change and prospects for the future. The next section describes a plan for drought and water scarcity. In the next parts of the diploma thesis, there are procedures that can mitigate or completely avoid the consequences of drought. From this informations, a pilot study of the plan for drought and water scarcity for the town of Počátky is being prepared in the next part.
Variants of the first separation stage with two-stage water treatment
Urban, Jaromír ; Látal,, Milan (referee) ; Biela, Renata (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor thesis is to introduce the possibilities of the first separation stage with the two-stage treatment of raw water for drinking water. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical part. At the beginning of the theoretical part, I make research of raw water sources, requirements for their quality, the possibilities of water treatment for raw drinking water and the distribution of water treatment plants according to the number of separation stages. In addition, the first separation stage for two-stage water treatment is described in more detail, equipment and technology used for a given level of treatment and detail information of the individual types of the first separation stage. In the practical part of the thesis, two selected types of the first separation stage - settling tank and clarifier for specified design flow Q = 80 l/s are calculated. The following drawings are based on previous calculations. For the proposed rectangular settling tank with a horizontal flow and a clarifier with a mechanical float cloud, the ground plan, longitudinal and cross section are processed.
The Measures Provided in Water Supply Systems in the Dry Seasons
Machač, Tomáš ; Netušil, Lukáš (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
The main objective of this work is to summarize the issue of water supply during drought. In a long dry periods may occur water shortage in water resources and difficulties in providing drinking water supplies due to this situation. The first part describes the drought in terms of meteorology and there is also described the occurrence of exceptionally dry seasons in Europe and the Czech Republic. The second part is devoted to water resources and their role in water supply systems. The following section describes the current status of legislation in the Czech Republic and water companies stances on the issue of drought and the creation of appropriate measures. The last comprehensive section is devoted to design concept of concrete measures that could be implemented in the future and can reduce the impact of drought on water supply systems and whole society.
Specific substances in drinking water sources
Konečný, Jiří ; Kučera, Tomáš (referee) ; Biela, Renata (advisor)
In this bachelor thesis I dealt with specific substances which occures in sources of drinking water and pollutes quality of water. Especially its heavy metal, sulfur compounds, nitrogen, phosphorus and other. In this thesis I deal with possibilities about remove of these substances by using various methods, especially absorption on filter materials. These thesis is focused on using absorption on suitable materials for reduction of concentration arsenic and cadmium in drinking water. In first part I‘ve characterized subtances which occures in the water and outlined a way to remove them. Second part is focused on laboratory observation to efficiency of removing arsenic and cadmium on sorption materials.
Problematika pitné a užitkové vody v obci Štěpánovice
Fic, Pavel
The thesis, divided into two main parts, deals with the issue of drinking and service water in the municipality of Štěpánovice. The first part focuses on the issue, including the explanation of related terms, while the second part describes the current state of water management of the area, which is based on obtained data and information from the municipality and its households. Recommendations for the water management in the village of Štěpánovice are included in the summary of the thesis. The recommendations focus especially on an environmentally friendly use of drinking water and a more efficient management of service water. Due to water scarcity problems, the municipality was advised to draw up a strategic document "Plan for Drought and Water Scarcity", and a hydrogeological exploration was recommended to the municipality in locations with higher water scarcity.

Water quality in water reservoirs and possible sources of pollution
Slabá, Nela ; Petrtýl, Miloslav (advisor) ; Kyriánová, Iveta Angela (referee)
The Bachelor's thesis is divided into four main parts. The first part is an introduction to the topic of thesis and a description of basic terms, second part is composed of the hydrological network of the Czech Republic. There is a description of the five most important water reservoirs for individual basins of the Czech Republic and the division to individual plants. For each selected tank there is a hydrological and technical description and graphic representation of suitable profiles in the period 2009-2014. At the Vltava River Basin is described WR Švihov, WR Římov and WR Hracholusky. At the Elbe River Basin is described WR Vrchlice and WR Josefův důl. The Ohře River basin is managed by WR Horka, WR Přísečnice and WR Chřibská Kamenice. The Odra river basin is managed by WR Kružberk and Morava River Basin by WR Vír I., WR Karolinku and WR Opatovice. In this part there is also legislation related to the quality of drinking water, the description of the indicators, water quality and consumption requirements for the Czech Republic . The third part deals with the problems of pollution, the sources of pollution and there is especially mentioned eutrophication. The fourth part of the thesis is focused on the impact of climate on quality of drinking water. Conclusion evaluates the current state of the quality of drinking water in the Czech Republic and it can be concluded that the quality of drinking water is increasing due to the decline of pointed pollution and better water technologies.
